Death and Love

“Death is our friend precisely because it brings us into absolute and passionate presence with all that is here, that is natural, that is love.” – Rainer Maria Rilke

In the last 5 years I’ve had family, friends, and friends who are more like family pass away. All 40 and younger. All died during the Holidays. We all knew she was ill yet her death still came as a shock, since we were all hopeful.

She and I reunited oddly enough at another funeral last year. I saw her only a handful of times between that funeral and her own. I appreciate the time we spent together.

She laughed easily and lived life to the fullest and she will live on through family and friends.

Her memorial was at the intersection of LOVEland Street.
